Israel Congregation comprises approximately 150 member families of diverse Jewish backgrounds, both full-time and part-time residents of southern Vermont. We provide Shabbat evening services every week and Torah study on Shabbat mornings. We celebrate and observe Shabbat, holidays, festivals, and life cycle events. We are proud of our religious school and adult education, as well as cultural, social, and family programming, all offered in a supportive and welcoming environment. An integral part of Jewish life in the Northshire for more than 100 years, Israel Congregation has been at its current location on Main Street (Route 7A) since 1986. In 2003, Israel Congregation launched a capital campaign and building expansion project called Merkaz, which in Hebrew, means "center." The campaign's success led to the completion of our current building, which now serves as a vibrant cultural and community resource for the southern Vermont community and beyond.
